My name is Seth Richardson, I was raised under the umbrella of the Watchtower and became a member in 1997. My wife and I were dedicated to the organization until 2014 at which time we repented and decided we wanted to be disciples of Christ. We were discipled by a prominent SBC pastor and introduced to Calvinism. After 3 years, we became members of a 1689 2nd LBCF church.

Last year at this time, I was in the process of becoming an elder and started to no longer accept major parts of the confession. When the church shut the doors due to Covid, my family and nearly 40 others started meeting in a field behind our home. I never went back. I am currently not part of a local body but desire to be. The area I live in, Durham NC it seems gives the option of easy believism or Calvinism.

A friend sent me a video of David Bercot and I have been reading "Will the real heretics please stand up" and really appreciate the content. I am very active in street evangelism and after continuously being confronted by people asking about my political associations, I started to feel that the Watchtower position, at least on this point, was biblical.

I have watched a debate that included David Bercot on Just War, also one by a gentleman named Matthew on voting and instead of voting this year, I preached the kingdom of God outside the Polling Station. I have been both very confident and likely arrogant in my Reformed position and I am seeking to be biblical and in line with the early church. I am here to learn.

Lord bless and keep you all.

Hello Seth I am glad you have found this site. Out of curiosity what in 1689 London Baptist Confession could you not agree with anymore? Regardless happy your here and I pray you may be blessed and we as well.

Hey Sean, hope all is well.

I think specifically the TULIP. I hope my post wasn't offensive.

God bless you and thanks for saying hello.

Hello Seth wasnt offended at all just curious to hear from brothers who have come from a similiar background. The reason why I am asking because after being exposed to the anabaptist doctrines of non resistance or separation from the world or a head covering, they were not a Stumbling block to me. That being said I dont know if the Anabaptist position is entirely correct on the sovereignty of God, but then again i dont know.

I am reading Ezekiel right now and God clearly says he takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but rather they repent and live. but at the same time it says somewhere in psalms or proverbs God has created the wicked even for the day of wrath (paraphrasing badly its from proverbs 16:4). I digress these are questions I dont necessarily need to know .

But I confess the love of God has been made more real to me after joining an anabaptist church but that could be more then just a different theology? Regardless hope you enjoy your time here.
