Hey all,

I haven't been on very much recently but I just wanted to throw out this topic. What YouTube channels do you recommend for learning more about the historic faith? I'll list a few here that I have found helpful -

1. Scroll Publishing YouTube channel — https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL6qGDn7Nnd84-UgURpw8Dw

This is an obvious first choice but there are some videos there that aren't in the courses so perhaps there are a few here who are unaware so it's worth mentioning.

2. Post-Apostolic Church YouTube channel — https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCi9mtpr6EFxlYlrfCMU1heA

I found this channel recently but it seems to be informative. Its focus is on Ante-Nicene authors and writings.

3. Paul Pavao YouTube channel — https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5LOtVxXUfK2STXPVwc6SiQ

Paul has a great website that I'm sure many know about - Resource on christian-history.org — https://www.christian-history.org/ - and I have found some of his videos to be very helpful.

4. Ryan Reeves YouTube channel — https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrI5U0R293u9uveijefKyAA

Ryan's church history videos are well produced and very informative. I recommend his channel mainly for his job on the Reformation and Luther in particular. I didn't find his content on early Christianity to be as good.

5. David Pawson YouTube channel — https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHcMzsUck5hwRHE77AOTNSA

While David Pawson is technically an evangelical he departs from some of the core tenants of evangelicalism in favor of New Testament Christianity. This means that his view on the new birth and salvation fall directly in line with Scripture and the early church. I've also noticed that he is familiar with many Ante-Nicene writings and that has no doubt influenced his understanding of the Scriptures.

And finally, there's me - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbRhZj1j98ju3HPE6-pmLvg

. I've just started a channel and I would really appreciate your support. I'm just offering my loaves and fish for the Lord to use as He sees fit. I think we need to get the word out and share what we're learning with others.

Anyway, please add other channels or possibly websites with a brief description that you think the community could benefit from.

Thank you all!

-Chip

Thank you for the information! I will look into those channels.

Thank you for putting this together. This is a great resource.

I am biased, but I really appreciate the Followers of the Way messages. Many of the messages rely on the ante nicene church for perspective.

Thanks, Clark. I really appreciate that!

You are welcome, Jeremy. David Bercot has one teaching on the Scroll Publishing YouTube channel on the Kingdom Parables of Jesus - that's one to check out if you haven't heard it already.

Hello, dear Chip. What a great resource! Thank you so much for creating this discussion group and getting the ball rolling.

I am not familiar (yet!) with Paul Pavao, but based upon your recommendation, I will check out his Youtube channel. The other channels that you and dear brother Clark Wray listed would also be in my "Must View" list as well for learning more about the historic faith.

The following Youtube channels do not focus so much on the Ante-Nicene writings as the channels you have listed, but the following are some further recommendations that I have found to be very helpful over the years for learning more about the historic faith and the practical living out of the historic faith:

1) Chuck Pike: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0UdYKSChMSi5SxjEDLgdTA
Dear brother Chuck, of course, already has one course right here on this website and it sounds like he will soon have many more. Brother Chuck's channel is a very edifying and enlightening collection of spoken messages, and he is definitely very knowledgeable regarding the Ante-Nicene writers.

2) A Church of Christ in Woburn: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOvxYfxTSnKJJKpT14tomtQ
This is the channel for the assembly where dear brother Chuck Pike fellowships and most of the videos here are videos of Chuck teaching.

3) The Anabaptist Perspective: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCy53LNDq447vE37AwioUvkg
Lots of great content here. Dear brothers David Bercot, Dean Taylor and Finny Kuruvilla have all shared during episodes of these podcasts/videos. Also includes episodes featuring some of the Anabaptist speakers that I find most encouraging, enlightening and challenging such as dear brothers Chester Weaver and John D. Martin.

4) Kingdom Fellowship Weekend: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9Iwnet6LJ03ITuYDOUi1wQ
Again lots of great content here. Includes content by dear brothers David Bercot, Dean Taylor, Finny Kuruvilla, John D. Martin and others.

5) Dean Taylor (Radical Reformation): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeyltIentDEmFnzHnh0Kxrw
A collection of very inspiring videos and documentaries featuring dear brother Dean Taylor.

6) For my last choice, I agonized and agonized over this a long time. I have learned a lot about church history and the history of Bible times from a Presbyterian brother named Bruce Gore. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC99vZUe84LuuZQKzf_l_M3A

While I would caution against some of his other playlists, I have benefitted greatly over the years from the messages in the two following playlists:
a) Church History
b) Introduction to the Historical Context of the Bible

Dear brother Bruce's "Church History" playlist includes a two-part history of John Calvin. Since Presbyterianism has its roots in Calvinism, we should expect the presentation of John Calvin's life by brother Bruce to be favorable. If these messages will stumble anyone, then please stay away from them.

Personally, I have found "hearing the other side" to be greatly beneficial, and I still maintain the view of Calvinism presented by dear brother Finny Kuruvilla in his course right here on this website. So viewer discretion is advised regarding brother Bruce's Youtube channel; but, if you can exercise some discernment, there are lots of great details of church history and Biblical history presented here that I have not found presented in such an accessible format anywhere else.

David Bercot has been going through Romans and it’s on Sound Faith (the YT channel). Thought people would want to know about this. It’s been really good!

I would also really recommend the Anabaptist Perspectives one. I think they also have a podcast.
