What did the early church father's say about casting out Demons in fellow believers? Can Believers have Demons?

I am not sure of how the Early Christians viewed demon possession of their fellow Christians, but I have read about their Origins and it is quite interesting. From what I understand they are supposedly the Souls of the half fallen angel, half human Giants who were destroyed in the Flood. And they are in an awkward position, they have no resting place so they try to return to the bodies of mankind. According to my understanding this was a common view among the Early Christians. I will also now share my personal experience. So, I believe that Demons can try to inhabit our bodies, but they have no power over us when we are filled and full of the Holy Spirit. I personally have had a Demon try to overthrow me twice. It happened that I was sleeping on my bed and in the night I awoke with this horrid ghostly figure trying to hold me down. I tried to fight back, but he was physically much stronger than I. However I had the Holy Spirit within me and I began to desperately call out to God. The Demon tried to resist, but he had to flee when God Almighty came to my rescue. In the Gospels’ a passage comes to mind that I believe is helpful to consider. There was a demon possessed boy who at times threw himself into water and also fire. And his father was seeking help from Jesus’ disciples. But they were unable however Jesus came to the rescue. Our Lord Jesus is a mighty Savior! Matthew 17:14-21 tells us that afterward his disciples ask him why they were not able to cast the Demon out. Jesus tells them it was because of their lack of Faith. He tells them if they had Faith as a mustard seed they could say to this mountain move from here and it will move. He also says this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting. I believe Christians can have Victory over these demons, but we must walk by faith and be earnestly Steadfast. We must stay close to God lest this next passage come to place. Please consider Matthew 12:43-45. Well God bless you Brother. I realize I may not have directly answered your question. My apologies.Β

I have learned there are levels to demonic activity:
1. Desire - (not demonic)
2. Temptation
3. Sin
4. Demonization
5. Possession

So a christian can be demonized but never possessed since then the demon will have dominion over the spirit.

There's a page related to that here: https://thehistoricfaith.com/early-christian-beliefs/demonic-affliction-and-healing, short answer is yes. You can navigate there by Home page > What the Early Christians Believed > D > find demons...
