Hi! I probably should have introduced myself already and maybe this isn't the right place to ask about this, but here it goes... I am 19 years old and was raised in a non-denominational, very free grace oriented home. I also have struggled with my salvation for pretty much as long as I can remember and my teen years were horrible. During my teenage years I violently lashed out at God many times, behaved demon possessed (I am worried I am), and even now struggled with these things, including doing things I think are wrong like reading/imaginationing fiction (I made another post about this) and I know my heart is not in the right place. I came across anabaptist teaching a few years ago and it seems very hard and scary. I know that God can help, but I am afraid I blasphemed Him and am beyond forgiveness or that my heart will never be in the right place. I guess I am wondering if I am to far gone, or even what steps I should take next. Again sorry I shouldn't be asking this here, but any thoughts or prayers would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am praying for you. I used to be your age. And I know how it feels to live with deep regrets. God can heal you and give you peace and I will be praying for you

Thanks a lot. I guess I worry that things won't be ok, and I won't know what to do.

The Devil would like to decieve and tell people they are beyond help.  Jesus only lists one unpardonable sin: the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.  It is generally understood that if someone still has the desire to know God and follow Him, that the Spirit is working at convicting them and they have not committed the unpardonable sin.  If you are afraid that you are not saved, repent, confess your sins and ask the Lord for help to live in victory.  If you are not already part of a church body, be baptized and join the body of Christ.  No one is perfectly sinless as Jesus was, yet the desire should be to live in obedience to our understanding of what God would have us to do.  Remember,we can never do enough good to earn our salvation.  It is a free gift.  Salvation is based on our relationship with God. If we truly love God, the greatest command, we will follow His teachings. When we fail, we will confess our sins, and God is faithful and just and will forgive our sins.  Remember, Salvation is not mechanical or works based; it is relational: an obedient love-faith relationship with Jesus Christ.

I guess I will share some of my thoughts on blaspheming the Holy Spirit. I do not believe most Christians ever come close to reaching this level of blasphemy. Furthermore, I do not think even the most wicked non-believers ever come close to committing this unpardonable sin. In Matthew ch12:31-32. Jesus said Every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven, and he goes on to say even blasphemy against he himself will be forgiven. A lot of people try to say rejection of Jesus’s salvation is what he was referring to when he spoke of blaspheming the Holy Spirit.  I disagree, I hope what I have shared so far explains my reasoning. So what does Blaspheme of the Holy Spirit even look like. Hebrews ch6:4-6 gives a good description in my opinion. Some qualifications are that you have been enlightened and have tasted the Heavenly gift. My friend from what I understand you sinned in your ignorance. You, yourself have explained that you were raised in a home, very shallow regarding an understanding of the Truth. Likewise, You said you have questioned whether you were even saved for as long as you can remember. Abby you have not come close to blaspheming the Spirit, not at all! You have nothing to worry about. But I understand you may still be worried, so I will continue to pray for you.

Hello Abby,All of the courses I have taken so far have been excellent. I would recommend starting with the first course that pops up, "Introduction to the Historic Faith" by David Bercot. https://thehistoricfaith.com/courses-v2/introduction-to-the-historic-faith
God will work on your heart if you let him. Start by obeying the teachings of Jesus and work on getting to know him. I would also recommend finding a church that holds to the historic faith, have you been able to find one yet?

This is one website to find a church, others on the forum may have other resources:
