My name is Elmer Rodes. I was born in 1994 into a conservative Anabaptist family in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. My ancestors have for many generations largely been Mennonite with a few Brethren ancestors. I enjoy studying Genealogy, the Early Church, Anabaptist History, Anabaptist Theology, and Other Restorationist/ Holiness/ Separatist/ Kingdom Christian Groups. I also enjoy studying other languages and am conversational in Spanish, having lived 3 years in Puerto Rico. I also am studying German and have interest in learning Biblical Koine Greek. I appreciate the Anabaptist heritage and want to share the Good News with others. I have enjoyed taking trips into some of the big cities of America (NYC, LA, Chicago, and Washington DC) to do Street Ministry (Singing, Handing out Tracts, and Getting into Converations). I also enjoy traveling and have been to various countries (Germany, Switzerland, France, Austria, Canada [including Quebec], Mexico, Guatemala, and Haiti). My desire is to be "faithful in that which is least."

Nice I am from a non-anabaptist background although today I attend an Amish Mennonite church. I was born in 1996. I am glad you have interest in studying other languages. Concerning biblical koine Greek, I have been studying it for a few years. And I would highly encourage you to do so. It actually is very fulfilling. And I am not sure how you go about studying a foreign language but I have a simple approach. I just read my English bible and study the corresponding verses. I have actually studied Spanish this way and I am currently studying Hebrew. It’s a lot easier starting out though if you can find an interlinear bible. You can take classes and courses for a boost but from my own experience it really is not necessary. Anyways God bless you brother I hope the best for you

I was born in 1971 to an Amish couple in Wayne/Holmes County, Ohio. Enjoy early church and anabaptist history. Have read all of David Bercots books. Around here I’m sometimes known as “Adam’s Dad”. My son Adam is in his mid 20s and has been working at the local Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center (Behalt) since he was 15. He has sparked my interest in history. May God bless you brothers….
