Hello,
My name is Aurelija and I was born near Chicago, IL - grew up there then moved to Canada after getting married. My husband and I lived in Canada for 11 years together then moved to Lithuania (we are both descendants of Lithuanians) as a response to what we believe was a calling from God. We were both raised in the Roman Catholic tradition and at this point still participate in that church.
However, for the past 8 years or so I have been becoming more and more interested in the anabaptist tradition. Roman Catholicism feels to me that it veered quite a bit from the teachings of Jesus. Oh and I forgot to mention that I became born again in March of 2021. Although in 1 way that experience was extremely orienting in that I now know that I belong totally to Jesus, it was also quite disorienting because I've no longer felt that I belong in the RC church.
My husband, on the other hand, believes no earthly church is perfect so we should stick to the one passed down to us by our families. Needless to say, it's been a confusing and challenging journey. To further complicate things, here in Lithuania there are very few non-RC church options and no anabaptists as far as I can tell. I trust the Lord will lead me where I need to be and I am grateful to have found the courses on this website.
