I grew up in Pennsylvania in a fundamentalist church. After college I became more and more dissatisfied with what I thought was a pretty ignorant faith and made the transition to being a Presbyterian, which is where I'm currently at. The Reformed church tended to have a lot more thoughtful people than the churches with which I was formerly associated.
After I joined our church's diaconate and began to attempt reaching out to the poor, a dissatisfaction started to grow within me at how heady our group was, yet without much meaningful action. That came to a head for me with the 2016 election and what I perceived to be my broader Christian community's throwing off of integrity. After reading and discussing this with some people, that dissonance lead me towards Kingdom Christianity.
I am still Reformed, which makes me quite odd around here, though I am seriously testing that out to see which aspects hold up and which do not.
We are currently missionaries in Romania (wife and 4 kids) and are stuck Stateside until borders open up.
