Hi Brett,
It's not immediately obvious, but if you click the round button that is in the bottom right hand corner in the attached screenshot you will be able to record your notes as you progress through your various courses as you said. The menu item is for accessing your notes that you have already recorded. I'm sure you will enjoy using this feature.
Oh ok, thanks Mark. I missed that. Great! sounds like it is for the purpose that I anticipated it was for. Lord's blessing to you.
Hi Mark
I am using MY NOTES now, thank you. But being an ex-software guy myself for many years, I can recognize a bug when I see one. My Notes has a bug that after having saved a My Note... ok, great, and I click on it to EDIT it, I should be able to save it and it overwrite that same My Note, but it does not. Everytime I save it, it creates a new one for the same My Note. It does not overwrite the one I am editing. Check it out, likely will happen to you as well.
Regards
Brett
Hey does anyone know why the tab saves what I wrote down every half minute or so? It's like I write something down and a few seconds later it is saving and re-saving without me tapping any buttons.
Hello, dear brother Judson. I noticed that as well. It sure does love to save our Notes very frequently! I found it slightly distracting, but on the positive side I figured that at least there was little danger of any of my Notes getting lost in case my connection to the website was dropped. That sounds like a good thing for users in areas where connectivity may be spotty.
I assume that there is some default setting on the website that controls how often Notes are automatically saved.
Whether or not each individual user could possibly change that setting for their own Note taking would be an excellent question for thehistoricfaith.com/members/thfadmin/ @cwray or thehistoricfaith.com/members/timothymiller/ @TimothyMiller .
Hi Brother Judson,
I believe it's like Brother Charles said, it's a way to save your notes in case you lose your connection, or what have you. I like the feature myself.
How do you find your notes then? For some reason I cand find out how.
If you are using a laptop, look at the menu on the left side (see photo). Hopefully that works!
Yes, thanks that helps. I got it.
@His_Disciple you are absolutely correct. By default these notes save automatically from time to time so that users don't lose them in the case of a bad connection or computer failure. Currently the only settings we have is to either have it on or off. There is a possibility that down the road it could be better customized to not be so obvious about it.
Thank you so much, dear brother Clark. I know that dear brother Samuel Lopez and I both really like the auto-save feature, and I believe everyone here would agree that saving too often is much to be preferred to the risk of losing Notes. If the frequent saving could take place in the background, that would be the best of both worlds.
In the meantime, it is great to know that if our connection to the website does drop, the worst case scenario is that we would lose only a very small portion of our most-recent Notes.
Thanks again for all of your efforts towards making this a wonderful platform for learning and fellowship. May our Lord richly bless your labors for His kingdom.
I fully agree, dear brother Samuel! I am a big fan of auto-save functionality, since it has saved me from a lot of grief and heartache in the past.
I really like knowing that if my connection to the website drops, I will only lose a very small portion of my most-recent Notes.
May the Lord richly bless your seeking first of His kingdom and His righteousness, dear one.
