So I grew up in anabaptist settings, and over the years have developed convictions on my lifestyle, especially in extravagant living.I'm finding more and more that it's a lonely road to walk.If there are lots of church leaders who find no problem with extravagant living,am I over sensitive on the issue?

I personally don't believe we Christians are called to extravagant living, but to humble living. Having enough to meet our own and our families needs and using whatever else we have to take care of God's people and the people who are poor and hurting in the world. Living lives storing up treasures in heaven and not on this earth. That is the way I have learned Christ. Each individual can choose to live that way before Christ whether our church leaders live that way or not.

You are absolute right. The way of the Cross after Christ is lonely and it reminds me of what Jesus says in Luke 13:24. “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. Individual disciple got be totally resolute in following JESUS. By His grace and help of the Holy Spirit, we shall overcome till the end. Amen

In getting to know different people, I've discovered that not everybody who's totally sold out to God has put it on Instagram, so to speak. Folks who live and die for trucks will often boast about how much they spent on their trucks, while we'd agree it would be most unChristlike to boast about the amount of money we invest in the Kingdom of Christ. So worldly hearted people get more publicity. But I totally get the frustration.

Most of us plain people are worldly in the worst way, like the Pharisees. Isn't that what always happens with God's called out people? Only a remnant keeps the vision. May God raise up laborers in his harvest!

Very true!I have noticed often when people join kingdom focused churches from worldly cultures they put the ones to shame that grew up in that setting, may God give us "Godly jealousy ".
