Chapter 16: Testimony of the Prophetess.

WE MUST ALSO MENTION WHAT THE ANCIENT AND EXCEEDINGLY REMOTE SIBYL: whom Plato, Aristophanes, and others have referred to as a prophetess, taught you in her prophetic verses about the one true God. She says this:—“There is one only unbegotten God, Omnipotent, invisible, most high, All-seeing, but Himself seen by no flesh.”

THEN ELSEWHERE LIKE THIS: "But we have strayed from the Immortal’s ways, and worship with a dull and senseless mind idols, the workmanship of our own hands, and images and figures of dead men."

AND ELSEWHERE IT IS WRITTEN: "Blessed will be those people on earth who love the great God above all else, praising Him when they eat and drink, relying solely on their piety. They will renounce all shrines they see, all altars and idols made of mute stones, worthless and stained with the blood of animals, and sacrifices of the four-footed creatures, recognizing the great glory of the One God."
