Chapter 20: The Peace and Harmony of the Universe

The heavens, revolving under His control, are subject to Him in peace. Day and night follow the course set by Him, without hindering each other. The sun and moon, along with the starry hosts, move in harmony according to His command, staying within their limits, without any deviation. The fruitful earth, by His will, provides abundant food at the right seasons for humans, animals, and all living creatures, without hesitation or changing the ordinances He has established. The deep abysses and the indescribable arrangements of the lower world are also bound by the same laws.

The vast, immeasurable sea, gathered into various basins by His work, never goes beyond the boundaries set for it, following His command. For He says, “Thus far you shall come, and your waves shall be broken within you.” The ocean, impossible for man to pass, and the worlds beyond it are regulated by the same laws of the Lord. The seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter peacefully give way to each other. The winds from their various directions fulfill their purpose at the proper time without hindrance.

The ever-flowing springs, created for enjoyment and health, reliably provide their resources for human life. Even the smallest living beings come together in peace and harmony. All these have been appointed by the great Creator and Lord of all to exist in peace and harmony; while He does good to all, He is most abundant in grace to us who have sought refuge in His compassion through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom be glory and majesty forever and ever.

Amen.
