Appendix: The humble servant of Christ Jesus to Ignacious, her beloved co-disciple

The things you have heard and learned from John about Jesus are true. Believe them, cling to them, and hold firmly to the profession of that Christianity which you have embraced, and align your habits and life with your profession. Now, I will come along with John to visit you and those with you. Stand firm in the faith, and show yourself as a man; do not let the intensity of persecution move you, but let your spirit be strong and rejoice in God your Savior. Amen.
