Chapter 12: The Gentle Response of Christ.
BUT THE LORD IS PATIENT AND DOES NOT DESTROY THE ONE WHO IGNORANTLY DARES TO SPEAK SUCH WORDS: Instead, He calmly replies, "Go away, Satan." He does not say, "Get behind Me," because it is not possible for Satan to be converted. Rather, He says, "Begone, Satan," to follow the path you have chosen. "Begone" to those things to which your malice has called you. For I know Who I am, by Whom I have been sent, and Whom I am meant to worship. For "you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve." I know the one God; I am familiar with the only Lord from whom you have become an apostate. I am not an enemy of God; I acknowledge His supremacy; I know the Father, who is the source of my being.
