Chapter 11: Teaching of Various Moral Responsibilities

NO ONE WHO IS ADDICTED TO IDLENESS SHOULD EAT: so they don't become a wanderer and a whoremonger. Let drunkenness, anger, envy, reviling, clamor, and blasphemy "not even be mentioned among you." Widows should not live a life of pleasure, or they may turn against the word. Be subject to Caesar in everything that poses no spiritual danger. Do not provoke those who rule over you to anger, so that you do not give an opportunity to those who are looking for one. It is unnecessary to write to you about practices like magic, impure love of boys, or murder, as such vices are forbidden even by the Gentiles. I am not issuing commands on these points as if I were an apostle; rather, as your fellow servant, I remind you of them.
