Chapter 3: The Same Continues

THE PROPHETS: when they speak as if in the person of God, saying, "I am God, the first, and I am also the last, and besides Me there is no God," speak about the Father of the universe and also about our Lord Jesus Christ. They say, "A Son has been given to us, on whose shoulder the government rests; and His name is called the Angel of great counsel, Wonderful, Counselor, the strong and mighty God." Concerning His incarnation, they proclaim, "Behold, a virgin shall be with Child, and shall bring forth a Son; and they shall call His name Immanuel." Regarding the passion, they declare, "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and as a lamb before her shearers is silent, I also was an innocent lamb led to be sacrificed."
