Epistles of Ignatius

Moses, the faithful servant of God, when he said, “The Lord your God is one Lord,” and thus declared that there was only one God, also acknowledged our Lord when he said, “The Lord rained upon Sodom and Gomorrah fire and brimstone from the Lord.” Again, “And God said, Let Us make man in our image: and so God made man, in the image of God He made him.” Furthermore, “In the image of God He made man.” And that [the Son of God] was to become man is shown by Moses when he says, “The Lord will raise up a prophet for you from your brethren, like me.”
