JACOB THE PATRIARCH PROPHESIED ABOUT TWO COMINGS OF CHRIST: In the first, He would suffer, and after this, your nation would have neither prophet nor king, while the nations who believed in the suffering Christ would await His future appearance. Furthermore, in your nation, there were always prophets or rulers from the beginning until Jesus Christ appeared and suffered, a fact you cannot shamelessly deny or prove otherwise.

While you claim that Herod, during whose reign He suffered, was an Ashkelonite, you still acknowledge that there was a high priest in your nation.

Therefore, you had someone presenting offerings according to Moses' law and observing other legal ceremonies, as well as a succession of prophets until John, even when your nation was exiled to Babylon, your land ravaged by war, and sacred objects taken away. There was always a prophet who was leader and ruler of your nation, for the Spirit in the prophets anointed and established your kings.

However, after the manifestation and death of Jesus Christ in your nation, there has been no prophet, and you ceased to exist under your own king. Your land was devastated and left desolate like a shelter in a vineyard. Jacob's statement in Scripture, "And He shall be the desire of nations," symbolically referred to His two comings and that the nations would believe in Him. This is now clear, for those from all nations who are pious and righteous through faith in Christ anticipate His future appearance.
