This course was very insightful; I truly enjoyed learning about the lives of Patrick and Francis. Very inspiring to see the great lengths they went to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I was challenged by the course on True Greatness to examine my own heart and my motives for serving God. Am I serving God so others look up to me? I came to the realization that I am not fit for service until I am willing to be an obscure servant others barely notice. Only when I want to see God use others mightily can He really use me the way He wants to.

What especially inspired me in this course was how God doesn’t work inside a box. Whatever the ‘theological’ situation a person may be in, the sincere seeking heart finds Him, and God works through him/her. We do well to follow Christ’s teachings on love and mercy, instead of pointing fingers and judging those who may not understand secondary teachings the same as we do.
I’m grateful to have that message spoken into my life!!

Huge challenges from little known heroes of the faith from long ago.

This was a new insight for me, that the disciples highlighted their own failure in the Gospels, while bringing glory to Jesus and his work. My respect for them has increased.
I've noticed that all, or almost all, of Jesus' interactions with women in the Gospels are positive. Was that actually how it was or were the writers just being gentlemen??

Francis of Assisi taught me what real joy is.

St Francis and Patrick blew me away. Some time ago, Chuck Pike mentioned Alexander Campbell’s address on war in a YouTube video. After reading it, I was deeply moved (to make a long story short). Yes, all of these guys were a great encouragement and they challenged my contemporary mind set. The apostles, John Westley, etc. These stories will stick on my mind, and they WILL remind me to love people more and to hold on to possessions less. THANKS for sharing!

I went to a Church of Christ Bible College and never knew anything about these letters.

It never ceases to amaze me at what I learn in these courses. I have started listening to many of them wondering if this one would maybe be one I wouldn’t learn so much from. Not a good attitude I know, thinking I know everything.🤦🏽‍♀️ Or at least a lot😅 but I’ll come out the other end of a course having been stretched and challenged and very blessed over and over and over. Godbless you Brother David Bercot !!!

I think the biggest takeaway for me from this course was the necessity of being "all in." While the Campbell letter had a different approach, for me the lesson still had to do with commitment to Christ - in counting as brethren those who have confessed Christ and bear fruit of striving to follow Him.

My family currently lives in a situation with a number of people involved in professional ministry and I have honestly struggled on both of these issues. One, in discerning where differences in walking out the Word are actually issues that should divide, and where I am being pharisaical...but also in a desire to be "all in" being negatively influenced by the prevalent example and outright preaching around me of "abundant life" and "don't negate God's grace with your striving."

All of that to say, this was a timely reminder for me. I appreciate the great amount of work Brother Bercot (and the other men) have put into these lessons.

This is a good course and I really recommend taking it!

I love the stories of the saints.

I enjoyed learning about these historical figures and learning from them can bring balance to our lives

I knew very little about some of the leaders highlighted in this course before taking it. I found the lesson on the apostles especially paradigm-shifting. In some of the later lessons, it was harder to make the connection between the talk and the focus of the course. I would have appreciated more application made about what true greatness involves. But overall, very worth the time to gain the spiritual lessons found here!

This course is convicting, humbling, challenging, and inspiring. Very helpful for the one having questions about what he sees in the churches and what he sees in the Bible. Your observations on the Restoration movement are spot on. May God bless this ministry.

Great class- happy to see Campbell in the curriculum. My favorite was St. Francis.

This course helps us keep the main thing the main thing. Simplicity of the Gospel in a love faith relationship with Christ.

There are many men of old that we can learn true christian greatness from. David does a wonderful job unfolding some of the stories of men that exemplify this greatness.
