I thoroughly enjoyed this series of lectures. Christians must be careful what curriculum and sources they use when talking about the history of America. I highly recommend this course to anyone.

As someone educated under the popular Protestant view of “Christian America,” this was a very instructive course.
I appreciated the historical survey of where the initial settlers from Europe were coming from spiritually (the Reformation) and how easily they got off track in their land grabbing, treatment of the Indians, compromise in trade, use of slaves for profit and other unchristian practices.
I also found the covering of the Revolution itself to enlightening, especially with such personalities as Samuel Adams and the Sons of Freedom and their use of propaganda.
I think it is sad that no matter what side a person falls on, whether this being a 'christian' nation or whether this was a 'secular' government initially, it is clear that by and large, this nation was founded on the shedding of blood.
Indeed, the history of the United States is spurred on, and marred, by one series of killings after another.
This alone should persuade us that no human government or political philosophy could ever possibly be the solution to mankind's ills.
That said, I was also impressed with the intelligence and nobility of the Founding Fathers. I'm no deist (!), but Franklin was well justified in viewing the unfolding events of the nation's development as "Providence"--and divine Providence, at that.

the third presentation abruptly stopped at 36:45 in the middle of a word. Other than that, this course is great.
I appreciate all the time and effort that Bercot put into this course.
This just shows me how little of the church and education systems can be trusted to not have an agenda. I am so grateful to have stumbled onto this ministry.
Fascinating material, well researched and presented.
I learned so much in this course. It’s full of information! Definitely recommend taking it.
So very eye opening. Public schools lie, lie, lie!
Surprising and enlightening and compelling. Thanks for sharing your research and for reading so many documents and letters and books! Thanks for taking the middle ground (in your conclusions) and not hiding information.
You might find everything you have been taught about America is a lie.
It is interesting how we say that America is a christian nation and was founded by christian men but when we look at their lives we would have a hard time saying that they were christians.
I enjoyed doing the course "The Myth of Christian America". It was interesting to learn more details on the founding fathers faith and to be able to hear from their diaries what their lives were like.
David does a great job of letting both sides speak for themselves and showing historical evidence for the failed attempts of trying to mix the Kingdom of God with the kingdom of this world. Like oil and water, they cannot be mixed. And everytime they have been attempted, it has made the Name of Jesus look bad. This will encourage you to follow Jesus and His commands in surrendering your sole allegiance to Him and His Kingdom.
Very informative and eye-opening. Truly shows how people twist history and doctrine to suit their beliefs.
Enlightening regarding the personalities of the founding fathers.
Its very informative and beneficial to receive history through Kingdom Christian eyes. Its a far different take then what I found taught in public school.
This information is presented fairly and honestly. It helps to sort out the facts from the fiction and the heroes from ordinary men and their actions.
This course has excellent background on Luther, Calvin, and the Puritans to give insight into how religious beliefs had an influence leading up to and on the revolution. In addition it also gives an understanding of the beliefs of the main men who were involved in writing the Constitution.
