Very interesting insights and totally new ideas for me. I grew up very involved in politics, and it is strange how I am only now seeing the inherent problems addressed here.

The lesson explains that early Christians were cautious about political involvement because they believed their primary loyalty was to Christ’s kingdom. It highlights concerns that politics could influence Christian thinking, divide priorities, and distract from the church’s mission.

This course is helpful when guiding us to what true Christian allegiance to the Kingdom calls for, but lacks practical direction (other than “tread lightly” or “abstain completely”) when it comes to gray areas of engaging with politics and their stewardship of the world. Maybe more case studies would help in this?

Great course on strengthening my view on the kingdom of God as far as not getting involved in politics. It was helpful to see Dean and David’s comments on how getting involved in the local level of politics can have the potential on drawing us in to more and more involvement. We have a limited amount of energy, time, and resources. There is plenty to do in the kingdom of God - am I involved enough in the kingdom of God that I don’t have the energy, time, and resources to spend on earthly politics? That’s where I want to be. Thanks Dean for the helpful course!

So intriguing to see all these reasons why a christian shouldn't get involved into politics. it's a course worth taking for any serious christian.

While I'm not in total agreement with the teacher, I do think that what he taught is instructive so that we do not get sucked into the deceptive temptations and solutions of the world. We are children of the Kingdom first.

If you’re unsure of voting as a Christian, I strongly recommend taking this course!

I really enjoyed this course! It was very interesting learning how the Mennonites were in favor of Hitler. I think we experienced something similar with to this with President Trump. I hope the next generations will learn from history and avoid the same mistakes.

Very interesting and alarming seeing what happened to with the groups in the past that started getting involved in politics. Clear warning for us today.

As someone who comes at this from outside the Anabaptist perspective, I was pleased to see that Mr. Taylor included the Conservative and Evangelical movements in his discussion of a paradigm shift. The Scriptural warnings about the "leaven of Herod" offer a completely new Scriptural understanding of government for me, as I have been largely conditioned to see the Kingdom of God in only its heavenly light! I'm not sure where I stand on the issue of radical citizenship yet, but this course has certainly given me good reason to consider it seriously.

This course was a good introduction to the subject and makes me want to learn more about being a citizen of God's Kingdom.

This presentation is well done. Brother Dean is engaging - almost conversational. I couldn't have fallen asleep if I tried! When I showed it to the youth from church, particularly the warning from history, they sat spellbound recognizing the parallels from history and the present.

This is a much needed topic and well presented. There is a strong emphasis on the attitude we should have and where it can lead rather than rigid right and wrong. I find this course enriching to have a balanced view of politics. Brother Dean Taylor conveys it in a loving yet convicting way.

I really appreciated this class! It helped me better understand why are seeing differing beliefs in Christian communities, in relation to current events. The warning signs from history were really valuable to reflect on where we are at, as believers or as churches.

This course helps put the Kingdom of God and the prevailing secular politics in biblical perspective so we do not miss our most paramount mission here on earth

I believe this is good perspective on getting involved in politics and the negative affect it can have on the church and Jesus when we get it wrong.

I come from a credo-baptist background and a such have always heard much teaching on the separation of church and state. I felt alone during the last five years. So many people in my church I had respected seemed have an almost idolatrous love of a particular candidate, regardless or sometimes it seemed even because, of his prevarications, disrespectfulness, and objectification of women. I wondered how the church had gotten to this low point. Why was it permissible to advocate force to create their vision for a world? What about our ancestors in Europe and colonial times who were persecuted because they declined to support a nexus of church and state? We were told these stories growing up to remind us following Jesus can be costly. Very occasionally to people I knew well, I would mention that I had chosen a number of years ago to stop voting as I could not, in my mind, reconcile it with the life of discipleship Jesus requires of his followers. That once garnered an oblique rebuke from the pulpit. It was refreshing to hear others are looking at the teachings of Jesus and coming to similar conclusions, but with more theological depth than I have yet to marshal. Thank you so much for this course and the references to other books and materials. I will definitely be following up with more reading about the idea of two kingdoms.

This course really helped me grow in my biblical and spiritual understanding on what a Kingdom Christian should do in the face of politics. This topic is extremely relevant especially as the church gets divided by politics. Dean Taylor does an excellent job of warning Christians as well as showing a way forward!

I always enjoy Dean Taylors content and find him to have a good and Godly perspective on the issues at hand. I appreciated the even-handedness and graciousness with which the subject was dealt. It was a good reminder of some previous teachings, good to explore some specific topics like voting and I look forward to seeing more content on the subject.

This course changed the way that I think.

It helps me know how to properly respond to neighbors and friends who think it is "so critical that we get out and vote".

I wish that all who call on the name of Christ would take this course. What a change, if taken with an open heart, the Church would go through. We could possibly have another "Pax Romana". Just possibly.

Excellent presentation on why Christians should not be involved in the politics of this world. Really thought provoking, especially the review of WWII history contrasted with what is going on in this country today!
