The highlight for me was the lesson on the catacombs. Lots of new material and thoughts

I learned new information on the catacombs for sure!
I learned new information on the catacombs for sure!
I too had many misconceptions concerning the catacombs. This cleared them up.
Love studying the Early Church, this course was AWESOME, learned things i didn't even know I needed :-) David has a wonderful way of presenting the subject to allow the greatest understanding. Some of the AH-HAs came from areas I never thought to study. A BIG THUMBS UP TO DAVID AND THE ENTIIRE STAFF!!!!! GOD BLESS !!!!!
This was my big take away.
I appreciate how this course fills in the "blanks" that do not normally get presented. While I was in college, I took two humanities courses, 1) the study of Christian Tradition, and Christian Mysticism. Both taught by a Franciscan Nun, which highly favored Catholicism. The Christian Tradition, was supposed to cover the time of the Apostles to the Protestant Reformation, but left out much of what was taught in this course. Thank you David.
This is a good course to get the history of what led to the New Testament era and what happened after the New Testament. It’s very informative and it’s backed up by primary sources. Two of these lectures are simply early Christian writings in audio format.

David Bercot shares his extensive knowledge of the early church in a condensed form that is helpful and easy to follow along.
Praise God for this teachings!
Great corse
Very interesting, my only problem with it is that the teacher rambles a lot and tends to get off subject, which makes note-taking hard.
Especialy the 1st and 2nd were very interesting.
I really enjoyed this course, especially for the historical value/information.
Informative
5 stars if you like history.
I found this course very interesting but also lots of information/names/places ect. Will need to listen to it serval times.
All Christians should learn this history!
Enjoyed it. Learned lots. Thanks!
I really recommend this course to anyone seeking to further their knowledge of the early church
this is must attend for all christian believers
Really helps you put a lot of scripture in proper context.
This course really deepened my understanding of the early Christians. I also really enjoyed the modules where David read large portions of the writings. I have a set of the ANF writings so I’m starting to read through those, but it was helpful to hear excerpts and motivated me to learn more. Grateful for the work that’s been put in to understanding the early church and the emphasis on going to the primary sources rather than merely positing or speculating about the way things could have been back then (which is basically what a lot of commentaries and other Christian writing is!).
This course provides an introduction and an overview of the period prior to Christ's birth and the history of Christianity to the early 4th century A.D. It is concise but well-presented.
Excellent course,... David Bercot helped to take the confusion out by breaking up the people and subjects into smaller sections! Very helpful!
I'm new to church history. Glad to see the scriptures being referred to see if these things "lined up."
This course was especially useful because it provides a good overview of Jewish and early Christian history. It encourages to read both the first book auf the Maccabees and start with the Ante-Nicene Fathers.
I also like the spiritual honesty that is not favouring the view of any particular demonination. My only suggestion is that the siege of Jerusalem in 70AD could deserve a bit more attention.

The Course was a very helpful introduction to biblical history. The material was precise and edifying. My only faults were with some of the multiple checkbox answer questions that were confusing and that the last module about the catacombs I found to be highly irrelevant to me personally. I believe that should have been a part of another course series specifically about biblical archaeology or something like that. So that was quite a bore to bear through. It was not what I am currently focused on studying regarding biblical history. Otherwise, excellent and wonderful lessons and wisdom and I am greatful for the material.
Well worth the time. Thanks David for all your research in this field
A course that is very beneficial for understanding what was happening in the middle east leading up to and soon after the time of Christ. Also very good to get an introduction to many early Christian pastors, writers, and martyrs.
Not only did I learn what happened between the Testaments, but I also learned what the early Christians faced. What a witness they were during persecution!
This course helps Christians to understand what the first Christians actually believed and lived. It sorts through common myth and fact pretty well. It dissolves preconceived notions which helps to get you back to original Truth.
Great course
this was more than what i expected
